About how much more projection time do you have on a projector if the lamp replace light comes on?

Quesiton:I own a Sanyo lpc 550m projector and a few days ago the “lamp replace” light came on and is yellow. I have watched about five movies since then to see if the light burns out so I could get a refund within the next seven days but it is still running fine. Do I need to send it back, or do I have plenty more hours of projection?
Answer:Lamp is usually NOT covered by any warranty. It is not a manufacturing defect. You just use it too much.

For example, you may just leave the projector on day and night. Eventually the light will burn. This does not mean they have to replace it for you.

Coxial cable to Sanyo PRO xtrax projector?

Quesiton:I have cable from the wall to a cable box then from the cable box “to tv”. The “TV” is a projector that I was told required an RF modulator to convert from the coaxial cable. I have the cable box and RF modulator set to channel 3, all RGB cables plugged in correctly and the projector will not recognize any signal.
Tried just connecting my laptop with MVGA cables to test projector, wouldn’t recognize that either. Any suggestions? The projector was used successfully on a daily basis with multiple hookups before I received it.
Answer:You need to connect the cable from the wall to the cable box. You need to connect the yellow video output from the cable box to the projector’s yellow video input. You then need to use the projector’s menu or whatever to select the video input. That is the most basic hookup.

Your projector will not have a cable input.

problem with my projector, please help?

Quesiton:i have a projector – sanyo 1080p HD – that i watch movies with. It’s pretty new, probably around six months old and i’ve been careful with it. Anyway, the left side of the screen is one size and then the right side is smaller. Like i noticed the bottom of the screen slanting up so i thought one of the legs were off but then i noticed the top of the screen on that side slanting down. I dont know what happened and theres no way(as far as i know) to adjust indiviual sides of the screen, but only the screen as a whole. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how i could fix it since i dont want to send it to get fixed and wait all the time the company takes to do it?
Answer:If the screen is flat and vertical I would say you have the projector too far to the right of the screen (As a result the image would be pointed at the screen at an angle and the right side of the picture would be closer than the left, resulting in the image being higher on the left than the right).

Your question is a bit vague, but it sounds like the screen isn’t vertical/flat. If so you could get the effect you describe. In either case the problem is almost certainly not the projector … but either the screen or screen-projector physical relationship. Fix the screen or move the projector.

which is the best?
which has the longest lamp life?

side note: if i dont wanna buy a screen and just wanna watch stuff on my wall. is there a special type of paint you can use that mimics a screen? or just white paint….?
can u rank them from best to worst and say why a certain one is better?

Answer:Solo’s response is right on, especially because DLP projectors overall have a high “native” contrast ratio. And there’s a May review at Consumer Reports of the Optoma HD20. Check out www.goosystems.com for an appropriate movie quality wall paint system.

Good luck!

I´m trying to connect my TV to my projector but it wont work?

Quesiton:I have a Sanyo Pro Xtrax (PLC-U35), and I´ve tried connecting it straight to the TV and to the video recorder but ot´s not working. We get our satelliete via an areial (so havent got a sky box, live in spain) but i know it works as the previous bar owner had it working. Can anyone please help. Thanks.
p.s i can get it to work with a dvd
and the only ports the projector has are USB/s-video/VGA RGB/RCA
Answer:no 1 you cant connect a tv to a projector as a projector is a tv. just plug a dvd/video/blu-ray etc through like you would with a normal tv

example. dvd player rca means phono leads red-yellow-white to tv etc or use adapters.
look on amazon for adapters if you need any as its got tons of types.

allso if its not got onboard sound aka speakers youll need a sound system for it.

I have to re-seat my projector bulb for it to work.?

Quesiton:I own a Sanyo PLC 55a projector. It’s bulb recently went bad so I replaced it with a new bulb from amatteroffax.com. The new bulb worked wonderfully for about a week, then one day the lamp wouldn’t turn on. When I press the power button, it will start to power on… then the red light starts to blink and it powers off. When I take out the bulb then put it back in, the projector works fine. But every time I turn it back on I have to re-seat the bulb (take it out then put it back in). I do not want to have to go through this process every time I use my projector. It takes time to realign its position and eventually the screw holding the hatch on is going to strip through the plastic.

Somebody PLEASE help me out.

Answer:it’s very possible that the leads aren’t making good contact. but it’s also possible that the wires that connect the bulb to the connector or bulb itself aren’t connected well. return the bulb to amatteroffax

http://www.amatteroffax.com/refundandexchange.asp

if it’s been less than ten days (their return policies su*ks)
and check ebay for better deals on lamps.
if you still have the original bulb it’s fairly easy to swap the guts, just make sure you don’t touch the actual glass bulb as the oils on your fingertips will cause it to break as the lamp gets very hot once it’s on.

Broken LCD or projector convert?

Quesiton:I have a 46″ Sanyo LCD tv with a cracked screen. I can’t seen to find a place online to get a repair quote. Also, if it is going to be really expensive to fix, is there any way to possibly convert it into a projector screen with ‘minimal’ effort?
Answer:Cracked screen means you will have to replace the entire LCD panel. This is the most expensive part of the LCD TV, probably will cost more than the value of your TV.
It is virtually impossible to make it into a projector screen. Such screens are of a low-glare material that can reflect light with accurate colors. If you mean make it into a projector, that would also be very difficult: LCD chips in projectors are very small and require a backlight, a working LCD panel, and lenses to focus the light onto a screen.

Is a contrast ratio of 400:1 bad for a home projector? Sanyo PLC-WXU10?

Quesiton:Was considering buying the Sanyo PLC-WXU10 to use as a moderate movie-watching, gaming projector? What do you guys think?
Answer:Depends on your definition of bad. It should be fine. Just make sure your room is VERY DARK. Projectors hate ambient light. This projector looks to be a few years old. Epson Powerlite Home Cinemas are good, I have one —or maybe BenQ if your on a budget. It all depends on how much you want to spend and how much resolution you want. It looks like it will do 1080i but not 1080p. I’ve attached links.

how do you set up a lcd projector to a laptop?

Quesiton:I’m running xp on a sony Vaio laptop and have a sanyo ux-41 lcd projector I can get my desktop picture up but not the icons or play dvds through the projector but see it on my laptop screen I can only see my desktop picture through my projector. can anyone help please?
Answer:Your computer graphics card is set to send so-called Extended Desktop instead of displaying the actual full content via the video output port. Go into your display settings, and make sure that on both displays 1 and 2 on the top part of the window, that the check box that says “Extend the desktop onto this monitor” is not checked. Hit Apply after you change. If it’s still not working, try right-clicking on display 2 and selecting “Primary”
